We cannot see a generation’s talent, dreams and contribution lost. Yet 1 in 8 young people today are not in education, employment or training.
While some excellent support exists, the right support is too often not in place for young people, instead seeing too many on a pathway to a future out of work, instead of fulfilling their potential.
By improving routes into work and learning and supporting the young people most risk of leaving it to stay in it successfully, then this will be positive for them, our economy and wider society.
I want to hear from you to find out what the issues are locally, and what needs to be done to put the support in place so that all young people, regardless of their background, can thrive.
In addition to the event I’m holding bringing local people together to discuss these proposals on Saturday 11th July, I’m running this online survey until 24th July to hear from as many people as possible.
This survey is open to young people and to all who have an interest in this – from parents and educators to employers and youth support workers.
As our local MP, I’ll share your views directly with DWP Ministers, who are leading on this work nationally, so this is an important opportunity to make your voice heard.
Please do share your thoughts below and feel free to share this survey with others who live in our community.
Thank you,
Claire
