We cannot see a generation’s talent, dreams and contribution lost. Yet 1 in 8 young people today are not in education, employment or training.
While some excellent support exists, the right support is too often not in place for young people, instead seeing too many on a pathway to a future out of work, instead of fulfilling their potential.
By improving routes into work and learning and supporting the young people most risk of leaving it to stay in it successfully, then this will be positive for them, our economy and wider society.
At this event, I will share some of the key findings on this urgent and important issue from a recent report commissioned by Government – the Milburn Report – and SGS’s David Withey will provide us with invaluable insight locally, including what is being done to support young people.

As our local MP, I’ll share your views directly with DWP Ministers, who are leading this work nationally, so this is an important opportunity to make your voice heard.
