The Government is now consulting on changing the law – including lowering the noise limit for the fireworks that the public can buy. I want our community’s experience and views to help shape these decisions.
Fireworks play a role in many celebrations and safe, well-organised displays bring the community together. We have many excellent ones locally.
At the same time, I also hear from fellow residents who are concerned for vulnerable loved ones, including those with PTSD, and pets. Some are experiencing the impact of loud fireworks going off outside their homes and outside of these shared moments.

I will collate all this local feedback and share it directly with the Government Minsters who will make the final decisions.
